Sugar Plum Fairy Plays Dress Up With Laura Of Bright, Bold, Beautiful!

I just adore it when a blog like Bright, Bold, Beautiful inspires me, Lauras blog stands for all that I believe in, in the world of fashion and design, bright colours and pattern invigorate and show confidence. Bright has subtle tones too!I like simple designs with clever cutting that have real impact! So when Laura asked me if I would like to showcase some of her beautiful water colours I was delighted!!I admit Laura did lead me a little down the sugar plum fairy path(top design by Susan Beebe), but who can blame me!! Her water colours are sooo frothy, sherbet magic, and after all, it is nearly Christmas!

From Humble Beginings Comes A Shoe With Mighty Heritage & Huge Appeal!

I love wooden heels and bought my first pair of Lancashire clogs fifteen years ago and wore them with evening wear not as a casual look believe it or not! Im so excited by the way that the clog has morphed from its humble beginings (traditionaly worn by cotton mill workers in Lancashire) into a much more glamorous take on clog wear, as this collection from over at Savvy Girl illustrates so beautifully!

Snow queen magic, crackling log fires, soft shawls, pine trees and christmas clogs stuffed with presents.

 I walked as if in a fairytale

A labour of love

A fairytale castle for two love birds?

Making Creative Friendships Through Blogging

I began my art buisness in 2004 with only a handful of images.I am inspired on a daily basis by anything and everything!I get inspiration from other artists work, from flowers I see on my walks everyday, to lovely packaging or greetings cards in a gift shop.Or even childrens furniture or clothing catalogues I am always on the lookout, inspiration is everywhere!

I enjoy drawing faries and mermaids the most, but since starting the stamp buisness I am inspired by Alice and Wonderland and lots of childrens stories.I love fairy tales and would love to do a line of princesses.I work in pen and ink and then colour my images in photoshop, digitally.I am a huge fan of vibrant colour, as well as black and white imagery.

Reblog this post [with Zemanta]
Over a year ago I began my blogging journey because it seemed the thing to do as as an artist, I began the blog to share my daily thoughts, inspirations and new artwork with my readers,back then there were only a handful.
What I didn't know then, was how many beautiful and creative friendships I would make along the way. Many of my blog readers have become friends (invisible as they may be) and have been a creative comfort and support group to me.I have also made friendships that have changed my life and the direction of my art career and for these I will always be greatful.
Thank-you, Sharon and I am happy that we made another creative friendship through blogging! Michelle x

Bluebird Notes is Tickled Pink

Sophisticated Pink is slowly inching it's way into my Blue world
I am falling in love with this youthful shade
 Pink is making an appearance in every inch of my home
and it is starting to creep into my wardrobe
{I need to ask Sharon ....Is pink in this season?}
Pink is not all girly frills
this playful colour has influenced some of our familiar pop icons

1928 Dubble Bubble Gum was introduced in a pretty pale "bubble gum" pink

1963 The Pink Panther was born

1968 Cosmetics will never be the same...
 iconic Mary Kay purchased her first pink cadillac
which became a symbol of hard work and dedication for the top earners
in her company

1992 Pink became the colour for Breast Cancer Awareness

This oh so sweet and innocent colour can stay and play in my home
as long as it wants
{all images... bluebird notes}

Thanks Sharon for letting me sprinkle
 some pink fairy dust all over your magical blog
