Mirror Mirror On The Wall Who Is The Fairest In Blogging Land?

Little Frost and his Snow Queen

Dear Gals,
Although I admit its not yet quite the season for the Snow Queen, this incredibly stunning picture, holds the clue to some exciting news I have just received which is my inspiration for penning this post. I am fasinated by how evocative traditional folklore and fairy tales are in the world of art, fashion and film, hence why I love Vivienne Westwoods theatrical brave clothing line. If I was ever lucky enougth to create my own clothing label it would have a sprinkling of fairy tale vision running through it, without being sickly or gothic, think elegance, drama, flamboyant cuts and rich colour and textures.

Speaking of fairy tales yesterday the the lovely Torie Jayne informed me that I was the very lucky winner of a beautiful silver mirror inspired by a hat Philip Treacy created for a famous Royal from Juliettes Interiors. For me the mirror pictured above has Snow Queen written all over its swooping silver feathered edges, I love pieces that transport you somewhere magical! Yet this mirror is still very contemory in nature too. I shall imagine being swaddled in an ivory synthetic fur, bathed in the glow of northern lights, nose stinging with cold in my solid ice dressing room every time I look at this slightly haughty but very striking piece. The Perfect antedote to feeling hot and bothered in your dressing room, a mirror with the power to help you feel like a cool Russian princess even on the hottest of days!

The Scent Of Happiness- It's All About You

You make me feel so young, you make me feel like spring has sprung! This tune was whizzing around in my head on this lovely spring sunday morning, looking out at my lilac tree, I was feeling really lucky to have all of you lovely readers to chat with, visit and to share our passions through this world of blogging.

I love sharing my passion for all things stylish, but really, the best accessory and beauty tip is allowing yourself time to do the things that make you feel truly happy, those who radiate  happiness always look fabuous! If I could bottle what goes into making me feel happy and pass it onto the rest of you lovely gals for when you need it I would!  Scroll down to read just below, what distinct notes my happiness fragrance would contain. What would your unique happiness fragrance contain, I would love to know?-

Sharons happiness fragrance

a note of wild jasmine
a hint of passion
a droplet of hope
the bluest sky ever with the most silky puffy clouds you ever saw
a note of an- opportunity to be creative
a large dropper of self belief
a note of orange blossom, heady with the promise of summer
the sweet trill of bird song wafting in through my attic bedroom window in the early morning
an accent of friends and family believing in you, even when you doubt yourself
Now gently stir in the ability to be open to new possibilites-
 a note of forgiveness
being part of helping to make someone feel wonderful
wild roses soft as satin, luminous in the moonlight and fragrant
doing my job for the sheer joy of it
living in the moment
hearing the sound of laughter
hearing my son playing his guitar

My bloggy Get Together With Kitty, From the Chronicles Of Dollie Daydream!

Hi Gals, just thought I would squeeze in a quick post, before the hustle and bustle of next week is upon me!Yesterday I went for my first bloggy meet in the UK, to see Kitty from Chronicles Of Dollie Daydream, that's me on the left, in case your wondering. I had such a fun time, it was lovely to meet the person behind one of the sweetest blog's on the blogosphere. You must pop over and meet her if you don't know her blog yet. She is so elegant, chic and fun, we had a lovely lunch together and discussed everything from favourite blog's we visit,( I now have a new list to visit!) to reworking some beautiful pieces in her vintage wardrobe and the colours we both wear, to her cupcake buisness and our travel's abroad to holiday packing!

She showed me a beautiful vintage inspired dress she had purchased from Monsoon, which was just gorgeous! Kitty has a brilliant eye for style, it was such a coincidence as I too, had recently picked up this sweet forties inspires vintage red dress from the Monsoon collection, which I fell for!

She presented me with the cutest box of caramel frosted cupcakes whilst I was there. Some of you may know that Kitty has her own cupcake buisness. I have to say they were genuinely the best cupcakes that either my husband and I had ever tasted packed with vanilla and cherries, light and fluffy, with a glorious subtle pink caramel frosting! Thank-you Kitty for spoiling us. I know where my next birthday cake will be coming from!

I was a little anoyed with myself as I forgot my gift that I had been planing to give Kitty in my excitement. So have decided to include a picture on this post, so she could have a sneak peak, of the vintage apron with bright daisies and animal shaped cookie cutters that I had picked out to give her. Here's to bloggy meet ups and friendship's, have you met up with any blogger's recently?

p.s speaking of cupcakes and girly get togethers, If you don't yet know about my fun Sex in The City giveaway and want to enter, the details on how to enter are just below this post. Good luck and happy Sunday.

Sharons Style Dispensary- answering your latest Style dilemmas in time for the party season ! x

For those followers or readers who are unfamilar with my Style Dispensary sessions its where I trouble shoot My Passport to Style followers questions on Style and offer them expert Style Advice!
This post combines my two passions quirky clothing well cut, with helping women put together a look that fits their brief and leaves them feeling super stylish and beautiful. Todays Style Dispensary has a Christmas party theme and features clothes from Urban Outfitters, which recently launched its latest store in Edinburgh and a Style dilemma  emailed to me from a one of my lovely followers on twitter, Nadia.

Nadia writes-Dear Sharon , I have always had a boyish figure no boobs, waist and stick thin legs and was a bit of a tomboy at school.I'm 26 and  have my first christmas party coming up in my new job and as usual am dreading dressing up for a special occassion!I want to look feminine without looking fussy and don't want to get my legs out! Please can you suggest an alternative party look. Nadia x

Hi Nadia, great question! I think I have just the thing, Urban outfitters have just launched their new store in Edinburgh and do some great alternative, but dressy pieces. The Christmas Party look I have styled for you, is such fun, it's lady- like chic, but instead of a pencil skirt (I know you want to keep your legs under wraps)

I have gone for a skinny harem pant in olive for you!
The beautiful draping and fluidity of these pants from Urban Outfitters, will soften any hard angles and create sweeping curves, the lace up front gives them a really dressy feel. The clothing and accessories chosen to go with your pants are ladylike but with a young edge. This beautifuly tailored berry leopard cardigan with it buisy print will distract the eye, again a great trick for smaller women and the Viviene Westwood grey snakeskin  brogues will ensure you maintain your ladylike wiles.Perfect worn with this fabulous black vintage inspired handbag.Or if your feeling a bit more daring wear the gold lady bug belt high on the waist over your cardigan and carry the gold and black striped clutch! All Urban outfitters.  Hope you like your new look Nadia, have fun at your party!!! Sharon x

So when Laura asked me if I would like to showcase some of her beautiful water colours I was delighted!!I admit Laura did lead me a little down the sugar plum fairy path(top design by Susan Beebe), but who can blame me!! Her water colours are sooo frothy, sherbet magic, and after all, it is nearly Christmas!

Making Creative Friendships Through Blogging

I began my art buisness in 2004 with only a handful of images.I am inspired on a daily basis by anything and everything!I get inspiration from other artists work, from flowers I see on my walks everyday, to lovely packaging or greetings cards in a gift shop.Or even childrens furniture or clothing catalogues I am always on the lookout, inspiration is everywhere!

I enjoy drawing faries and mermaids the most, but since starting the stamp buisness I am inspired by Alice and Wonderland and lots of childrens stories.I love fairy tales and would love to do a line of princesses.I work in pen and ink and then colour my images in photoshop, digitally.I am a huge fan of vibrant colour, as well as black and white imagery.

Over a year ago I began my blogging journey because it seemed the thing to do as as an artist, I began the blog to share my daily thoughts, inspirations and new artwork with my readers, back then there were only a handful.
What I didn't know then, was how many beautiful and creative friendships I would make along the way. Many of my blog readers have become friends (invisible as they may be) and have been a creative comfort and support group to me.I have also made friendships that have changed my life and the direction of my art career and for these I will always be greatful.
Thank-you, Sharon and I am happy that we made another creative friendship through blogging! Michelle x
