Valley tweed jacket and Dell tweed skirt |

This A/W 2011 savvy women everywhere will be returning in their droves to the institution that is the two piece suit. The reasons are a shift in the culture of fashion, a change in what we now identify as high style and a good dose of common sense. We have become slightly jaded by the staggering amount of choice on offer in the world of fashion today. Women are yearning for the simplicity of those school uniform days, where the toughest choice was whether or not to hitch your grey school skirt up a couple of inches without mum noticing, to make it your own. In rather the same way the two piece skirt suit from heritage label Thomas Pink offers the same instantly accessible charm of effortless grownup smart. You could be forgiven for being more than a little smug about the fact that by buying into a great classic tweed suit from British label Thomas Pink (limited in number) for work, you will stand out in a sea of cardboard black trouser suits your colleagues are wearing to the office and then later on in the week step into the same skirt teaming it with your favourite super pointy heels, shirt and leather biker jacket for a trip to your local pub for an instant shot of cool.
Yet at the same time high on our sartorial agenda is the comfort of knowing that by investing in genuine brands of heritage with true staying power we are investing in forever clothes that are cut beautifully from quality fabric that won't fall to pieces and that we can love and reinvent each season. The skirt suit featured here (Heath Jacket and Dales Skirt) is set to become a cult classic in this A/W season's ruby red and the tweed skirt suit (Valley tweed jacket and Dell tweed skirt) from Thomas Pink is probably the most flattering look a woman of any age can wear. Whether hourglass, apple or pear a pencil skirt is designed to hug a woman's hips and rear, whilst narrow lapels on a jacket, elongate the torso and the curve of the jacket nips in the waist, without a muffin top in sight. I love the unusual print and colours in the Fern print silk dress from their A/W 2011 collection, the background colour reminds me of a glossy aubergine with tiny red embers scattered over it.
My curiosity has got the better of me, I'm left wondering what shoes were the models wearing in these shots, personally I like the idea of some lush velvet peep toe heels. Now that I'm joining the league of women investing in forever pieces I'm left with more room in my wardrobe and the fun of styling up my skirt suit with a variety of shirts, shoes and handbags. So think pink gals and join the style revolution!

Hugs and love to you my friend..enjoy your weekend.
I'm a huge fan of Thomas Pink and have been for quite a while, and it's nice to see it featured on a blog as its an under the radar brand for bloggers to pick up on.
Adore the velvet shoes idea, a pair of platform peep toed deep burgendy velevt shoes sounds perfect to me.

There is indeed wisdom in collecting classic pieces. I love the clothes that I am able to uwear through the years: by themselves, or by updating with accessories or by matching with new pieces.
Thank you for leaving me a blog comment. So encouraging!
